i’m still watching old videos and commenting my bad but tbh i’m gna sound not woke but idt being a stay at home mom is even in our nature lol we all heard the phrase “it takes a village” but at the same time we act like it’s normal for ONE person to be raising a whole human being. i think everyone is jst sick and tired of capitalism but are deluding themselves into thinking they’re happy abt being a stay at home parent when in reality they just don’t like feeling exploited by the system, and wanna feel in control of themselves but in reality the system is exploiting them in a different way bc why don’t we have community helping raise kids? this is how we get women who have college degrees and “promising futures” resenting their eldest daughters for “disrupting” that lol it’s a story ive seen happen way too many times

2025-04-21 05:09:56 +0000 UTCi work in a school and am in school learning about human development as part of a course i'm taking in college and i can confidently say that while imaginative play is definitely good for a child, newer parents are GROSSLY underestimating the importance of physical play as well as play that develops a child's dexterity/fine motor skills. an able-bodied child will not develop to their full potential strength wise if they do not GO OUTSIDE and run around. they also will struggle with tasks as they get older if they are not developing their fine motor skills at a young age!!! THE KIDS ARE NOT MAKING PASTA NECKLACES ANYMORE like we need to do something besides play on the ipad 😭

2025-04-14 16:14:12 +0000 UTCi couldn’t fully understand the “stay at home girlfriend” idea if i sit for 24 hours and try to wrap my head around it. like i understand not wanting to work and i understand wanting to relax, but i don’t understand putting all of your survival eggs into the basket of a BOYFRIEND. like i know divorces happen and a husband could leave at any time, but i feel that with a marriage, you have a little more protection compared to a boyfriend who could kick you out at any moment and you would just have to leave and be homeless with 2 pennies to your name 😭??

Why the hell would I quit my job to live on an income that's barely above poverty wages to make my husband feel like "the man"? If I'm gonna stay home, we legitimately need to be rich. I don't want to do work where I'm paid outside the home, but I don't want to be poorly compensated with no annual leave in the home by a man who may opt out at any time either.

I honestly believe women should stay if the workforce even if most of their paycheck goes to childcare (as long as it's feasible.) Staying in the workforce for potentially climbing the ladder and increasing work skills and earning potential is important. Especially without 5+ of being out of the mother's given field.
