DDG has captured the hearts of *that* crowd of people because some black ppl are so beholden to the idea that we have to be grateful a black father is even present so he can do whatever he pleases, good parenting or communication be damned. I'm sure these young Black women who are getting pregnant know that abortion is a viable option, but since they seemingly choose not to take it, all you can do is wish them well and hope the baby ends up healthy. if the baby daddy sucks (which they tend to do bc men suck in general), she'll cross that bridge when she gets there, but some lessons are learned the hard way

People are choosing to be apolitical not just because their politics will upset people, but also because those people will harass, bully, and send hate and death threats to someone to an extreme degree. To publicly choose a political stance would be like inviting said behavior, and I don’t blame someone for not wanting to pick either side publicly. Sometimes people do just want to stay out of it. We shouldn’t even be looking to influencers to determine how we vote, and “cancelling” someone who voted for someone you don’t like is childish. To think the an entire group of people who decide to vote for someone are all the same and monolithic isn’t fair, nor has it ever been the case. To make an entire assumption of one’s personality solely based on who they voted for is crazy. I really miss the days when it was taboo to tell people who you voted for.
