2021-01-26 17:15:16 +0000 UTCI understand where your coming from and agree to a certain extent, but BPD isn't an excuse for Trisha's bigotry and siding with other bigots, and it's abelist to assume it is. BPD doesn't make someone make multiple videos being offensive to nearly every minority group, which are more at risk than Trisha herself. I understand the apathy that many have in this situation. I am disgusted by hairbyjay's and Jellyfish Slur's actions and words to her, and I don't think anyone deserves to be talked about like that (I think we can all agree with that), but I understand where many people's apathy comes from in this situation.

2021-01-20 00:43:04 +0000 UTCMental health isn’t always pretty and sometimes, while rooted in good intentions, certain social justice ways of thinking really don’t apply and oversimplify a much more complex issue. If you haven’t experienced these issues it’s really ableist to treat them as if someone is in full control all the time, especially in cases like Trisha where BPD may be the issue. A lot of therapists won’t take or aren’t familiar with how to care for BPD patients and the meds available are... a joke. She still needs to be accountable but the ableist lack of understanding around the nuances of mental health problems have been really disappointing. If she committed suicide tomorrow a lot of people would change their tune.
