Okay, a lot of thoughts! I'm hoping for a positive outcome (but with a show like this it's hard to say). We have our hero Gi-hun (456) representing the goodness in people and trying to take this place down. And then we have In-ho (Frontman/001) stepping into the role of both antagonist and also not wrong. There is greed, and not all people are morally the same. And over time, the players who survive are becoming much more numb to competitors dying. It's hard to watch but it really isn't a surprise that In-ho killed Jung-bae instead of Gi-hun. Classic villainy, why kill you when I can kill your friend instead? And also it's in In-ho's best interest to keep Gi-hun alive for the game. Back in the limo, Gi-hun's point about the VIPs seeing a winner playing in the Games would have appeal. And I think that In-ho truly resents Gi-hun for not going to America to be with his daughter. Sacrificing what he wants most in the world to stop the games. Whereas in-ho went through the games to save his wife, won, only for her to still die. To both men material wealth means very little. After losing his wife In-ho became a villain and doing to others what had been done to him. Gi-hun meanwhile is determined to end the games and take on the role of the hero. So I think what In-ho really wants is to break Gi-hun and show him how wrong he is. And while a lot of Squid Game soldiers died, so did a lot of the X's. All in part to Gi-hun's plan. But to be fair to Gi-hun, he came pretty close to pulling it off. There were just too many squid soldiers. Great watch party :=)
