Probably his greatest piece of advice: to catch a knuckleball, wait until it stops rolling, then go pick it up.

If you remember his famous Bug Light commercial, now he's in the front row in heaven's field of dreams. My late dad loved that commercial. Ueker is sitting in the farthest stadium seat and screams "He missed the tag!" Dad just roared at that.

Thx for the upload Mary, I’ve always enjoyed this movie but I totally understand if someone isn’t into baseball it’s a bit of a rough watch..🙂

Today I Learned Major League was rated R.
21:28 "He's got a great announcing voice."
Trivia: Well you have a great ear, because this is Bob Uecker who served as an announcer for 54 years (1971-2024). He passed away this January.

Baseball sports films are a genre in itself. So many, with parallel metaphors to real life including the naughty ones i.e. "Did you get to second base with her?" And we know what homerun is in that regard. Faves are both Kevin Costner films, Field of Dreams and Bull Durham but can't discount Robert Redford in The Natural. I knew Corbin Bernsen and his wife actress Amanda Pays, both parents at the school my son attended.
