The Ninth Gate; Army of Darkness; Debbie Does Dallas??

It was good, but it was 15 years before I was born. I was almost 20 when the 2000 version came out, and as funny as Peter Cook is, he was no Liz Hurley! And Brendan Fraser was so distinct in his roles, he definitely showed his range.

DMs

The original Bedazzled (1967) with Dudley Moore and Peter Cook was good too. I remember discovering it on the late, late show way back when I was a lad in the 70's.

Marvin Just Marvin

What's Up Doc? (1972) Ryan O'Neil and Barbara Streisand... and introducing Madeline Kahn

Bicentennial Man

Cody Cameron

'Withnail and I' - This is one of the most quotable comedy films of all time, and a real cult classic, with superb performances by Richard E Grant & Paul McGann as 2 out of work actors in the 1960's London, who decide to escape their miserable lives by going on holiday to the countryside. It also has an incredible, scene-stealing performance by Richard Griffiths, as Withnail's Uncle Monty, who let's them use his countryside cottage. If you haven't seen this film, I highly recommend it.

I commented a little while ago when she got feedback from her communities to watch Shaun of the Dead before she watched Hot Fuzz, so I hope Hot Fuzz comes before, and yours is chosen too.

I have a bunch, here are some: Some Clint Eastwood films (Pale Rider, Kelly's Heroes, The Eiger Sanction [to name a few]). Angels With Dirty Faces (an old James Cagney Humphrey Bogart film [be prepared to cry at the end]). A few Sidney Poitier films (Lillies of the Field, Pressure Point, In The Heat of the Night). Several Alfred Hitchcock films, among them are: North by Northwest, Dial M for Murder, Notorious, and The Birds. Also: Inglorious Basterds, Little Big Man, The Hustler. Presumed Innocent (a clever courtroom drama with surprises starring Harrison Ford), and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (starring Jack Nicholson among many others you'll recognize).

Cloverfield (2008) Honestly it's one of the best, if not THE best, found footage movies ever, alongside The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. And it was directed by Matt Reeves, who did some of the modern Planet of The Apes movies and The Batman/The Penguin show on Max!

The Blues Brothers. It’s a fantastic movie starring Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. It has people like Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Ray Charles. It turns 45 this year (plus it’s based on a Saturday Night Live sketch and that show turned 50 this year). It would be the perfect time to react to it. :)

"The Whale" (2022) Brendan Fraisers won Oscar for Actor of the year for this movie. His first oscar. Bringing in how he feels about his personal life to make the character he plays in this movie, come to life. If you get the chance to see it, he got a standing ovation that brought him to tears.

The 13th Warrior (1999) Plot: In medieval times, a Levantine toff (Antonio Banderas) joins a band of Vikings on a quest. Selling points: (i) Based on a book by Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park and many more) (ii) Directed (sorta) by John McTiernan (Predator, Die Hard, The Hunt for Red October) (iii) Movie most likely to be (correctly) described as "underrated."
