The Classics are the best. But getting someone young to react to them is like pulling teeth.

I recommend at a minimum watch the Classic Universal Monster movies. Like their introductory movies. Like Frankenstein and Dracula from 1931. The Mummy 1932, The Invisible Man 1933, the Wolf Man 1941 and Creature from the Black Lagoon 1954. That could be good to do for next Halloween.
The Universal Monsters are actually a very early example of a shared cinematic universe way before Marvel did it. Mainly when you go through the sequels to Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolf Man. They’ll be a couple movies where they crossover. It’s very cool.
