LOL Mary, You kept accusing this film of plot armor at times just because you didnt understand what happened, and while there was some moments. 90% of the time when you called it out, it was far from plot armor and it was actually making sense what they were doing and what happened. Even AJ surviving the crash, it was explained that the shuttle is made of titanium which is one of the strongest metals in existence. The shuttle semi survived impact and protected some of the people inside for example because of such. Them jumping the canyon in the armadillo, would actually work like that in real life due to the lack of gravity, so that also wasnt plot armor lol.

Michael Bay shows up in a cameo as a long haired scientist at 10:32 seconds into the video timer, or 12:48 seconds into the youtube video. The reason Ben Affleck mentioned Evel Knievel the stuntman was because Evel often jumped long distances on his motorcycle and talked about jumping the grand canyon with a motorcycle. He never did jump the grand canyon but it was kind of a meme or a pop culture thing in the US. So when Ben Affleck says Evel Knievel's name he's hinting that they jump the canyon. So it's a very niche reference local to the US in the 1990's. Also the actor DVD commentary on this movie is hilarious. Ben Affleck talks about the plot hole of training drillers to be astronauts and asked Michael Bay why it wouldn't be easier to just train astronauts to be drillers. Michael Bay told Ben Affleck to Shut the F--- up. Here's a 2 minute clip of Ben Affleck pointing out the major plot hole of the movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ahtp0sjA5U But for all the plot holes I really do love this movie. Soundtracks good too.

Btw, would love to recommend "Deep Impact" it's the scientifically accurate version of armegeddon. All the same steaks but what if it were done with real science involved. I think you would enjoy it too.
