He is quite literally the most important villain in the entire Marvel universe. More than Thanos. more than any other. It’s Doom. It’s always been Doom. For fans this is a huge miss because it doesn’t respect the character or come close to how they should be. But that was par for the course back in the early 2000s. Everything was a compromise.

Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) is being played by Pedro Pascal, Sue Storm (Invisible Woman) is being played by Vanessa Kirby, Johnny Storm (Human Torch) is being played by Joseph Quinn, and Ben Grimm (The Thing) is being played by Ebon Moss Bachrach. Also was announced at comic-con the next two Avengers film and the big bad of the Multiverse Saga has changed. The big bad is no longer Kang but it is Doctor Doom. The Two Avengers films will be Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars and being directed by the Russo Brothers again. They also announced that Robert Downey Jr. is coming back to play not Tony Stark but to play Victor Von Doom (Doctor Doom).

2024-08-15 16:46:38 +0000 UTCSo Chris Evans as Cap and Johnny Storm… in the 90s Marvel was going broke and they sold off the movie rights to basically all of their characters to stay afloat. Fox had The X-Men, Daredevil and the Fantastic Four. Sony had Spider-Man and Ghost Rider, Lionsgate had Punisher and NewLine Cinema had Blade.. Universal actually still has Hulk, and Sony still has Spider-Man of course. in 2008 when the MCU started they were doing movies about real b-listers. By the time Chris Evans was cas as Captain America, the Fantastic Four series were considered financially successful but critical failures and the audience reaction wasn’t great either. So it wasn’t really an issue. Nobody thought Cap and Johnny Storm would ever be in a movie together so it wouldn’t matter if he was cast as both. As for Jessica Alba… Sue Storm is known for her blue eyes and blonde hair in the comics…. so they gave her really bad contacts and a few different bad wigs.

If I remember correctly Disney didn't buy marvel until 2009 and the first Disney owned Marvel movie was iron man 2 In 2010 followed by chris evens being cast as captian America couple years later.

This was the time when Marvel didn’t have the MCU or their own studio. Marvel sold the rights to their properties at that time and Fox had it. Marvel finally got the the rights back to the Fantastic Four and X-Men when they did the Fox merger well into the MCU
