2023-08-03 03:34:25 +0000 UTCScreenwriter Hampton Fancher has said that he wrote the character Deckard as a human, but wanted the film to suggest the possibility that he may be a replicant. When asked, "Is Deckard a replicant?", Fancher replied, "No, but wanted people to question, because the whole point of the movie is to blur the lines between what makes somebody human, Deckard is the metaphorical representation of that blurred line" but the magic of movies like this is there is no right or wrong answer. Believe what you want because the point of the movie is to make you question. You can look at it from the perspective of, calling Deckard replicant can also mean calling him human, because replicants are also more human than human so they should be treated as humans are. Its crazy mind-bending movie. No wonder so many people write papers about this film. xD
