Yeah I've always loved this movie. It's definitely a bit campy but Guillermo's style and the really great CGI for the fight scenes are just incredible. Two comments Mary - please DO NOT watch the sequel to this movie, and please do check out Shin Godzilla sometime when you need a kaiju fix.

2023-06-08 18:08:59 +0000 UTCI always liked this movie, Guillermo del Toro took a somewhat ridiculous concept of giant monsters fighting giant robots and made it very interesting and enjoyable. After the first couple minute of credits there's a mid credits scene that reveals Ron Perlman's character survived and got out of the baby Kaiju. Also that was a pretty good Charlie Day impression. Charlie Day was the guy who played the tattooed scientist. He's most well known for playing Charlie from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."
