“Chasing Amy” changed me on my views on sexuality. “Dogma” changed me on my views on the Catholic Church and religion. Both for the better. These films are funny, but they also made me think. I think that’s what Kevin Smith does in his movies. There’s a message in there, but it’s handled through humor and some poignant moments.

2023-04-26 18:22:00 +0000 UTCI promoted it when I worked at MGM and took my parents to see the remastered version at the Thalberg theater in the MGM lot. They were thrilled. I was a promotions copywriter and editor in the home entertainment division at the time. Many feel Clark Gable should have won the Oscar for this was his best role. It is still astounding that Vivien Leigh won the part because she was the quintessential English actress.
