Originally he was just going to be heard on the phone but since they had the vacuum shop was rebuilt for the movie they decided to expand his part of this scene a little bit and actually shoot in the store. And the next season will be early 2022. Just today one of the executives confirmed that. They're beginning shooting in March and it'll go until November. But at least you'll only have to wait a year for the next season instead of two years like the rest of us!

If anyone asks they have to be able to corroborate with the official story that Werner died in an accident. They're basically being told that if they let word out about what really happened then they or their families will end up like Werner. Also this episode shows that Mike probably would have been able to save Werner if it hadn't been for Lalo. Werner's death was necessary for Gus's cover story to Eladio and Bolsa, and to not leave any loose ends for Lalo to find (we see that Lalo has already made contact with Werner's widow so if Gus had left Werner alive Lalo would have found him and gotten the information from him).
