I think the bit at the end was just a 'and she still lives despite all the events of the episode surrounding giving her up and killing her' perhaps with some ominous foreshadowing of things to come? Who knows but yeah since the entire ep surrounded around her in a way it made sense for a clip of her at the end RIP Billy :'(
