Roronoa Zoro’s CYOA (Part 1/8) Story

Has it been hours? Probably not. Although… maybe…?

No, this was not the time for Zoro to contemplate whether or not he had taken the wrong path again, just because he had been alone for a little bit. It was clear that he was always on the right path and that he would always get to his destination… sooner or later.

But now… he really wasn’t all that sure anymore. Thinking about it, no one in his crew said anything about a cave in a mountaintop on an island that honestly he didn’t even remember the name of… but that was fine. Surely he was at the right place. After all, he was never wrong.

“Hmm… I see.” The pirate hunter let out nodding to himself. “I knew there was something fishy going on with this place.”

After all, another hour has passed and he came back to a fork in the road, one of the paths clearly leading outside the cave from where he came from. Which could only mean one thing, so he shouted it out into the cave in anger. “Someone is leading me around in circles. Come out and face me like a true man!”

His voice echoed through the cave for a little bit, causing Zoro to breath out disappointed. He was really hoping that someone was here and leading him around, because that would mean that he would get to fight someone. And as he was just about to try his luck again and go into the cave…

“Greetings Swordmaster by the name of Roronoa Zoro and welcome to the grove of ‘Choose your own Armory’, or grove of CYOA for short.” A female voice rang out through the cave, making it impossible to track where it was coming from. At that Zoro began to smile, yet the voice continued regardless. “My name is Tirluna and this is a treasure trove of legendary artifacts, weapons, armor and so much more, each of which is more powerful than the next. Are you interested?”

“Do you have swords as well?” Zoro smiled. He was pretty contempt with the three swords he had come to trust and partner over his long journey, but he would never turn down an opportunity to look at some more legendary swords.

“Naturally. The entrance to the grove is directly to your left.” The voice said, making Zoro look and see… a massive door to his left, which he wasn’t sure when it appeared. Yet the voice continued with. “You have walked past it three times already, that's why I felt the need to point it out.”

“Hmm… Alright.” Zoro said as he turned to the door and gave it a strong push. The door slowly opened, revealing a large room with an altar in the middle and weapons of all kinds scattered across seemingly at random. He was about to take a step forward, when the voice spoke up again.

“Before you enter I must give you a word of warning however. Anything you see in this grove can be yours, but… you are not alone in here. Tons of CYOA spirits are watching you and if you are not careful, they can and will change you. And even drastically so. Are you still willing to enter?” The voice asked, to which Zoro just scoffs.

“Ha! You think I am scared of a few measly spirits?!? I know how to handle ghost better than every other swordmaster in the world, so don’t underestimate me!” He shouted and fearlessly stepped into the room, where all the weapons, walls and altar shimmered all at once.

Then the door closed behind him, though Zoro didn’t even flinch.

“Very well then.” Tirluna said as two swords from the piles of treasure started to glow and float to the altar. “Everything you take with you can be yours, but at a price. If you get out, you win and can keep everything you have taken. And because I am such a friendly host, let me give you my personal recommendation.”

“This is the Sword of the Neko king ‘Nekomato’, said to be the reason the entire Inu race ceased to exist. And this is the Sword of the heavens ’Michato’, said to be so powerful it could tear the sky apart. Would you like either of them? Or even both?” Tirluna asked, sounding more mischievous by the second.

But Zoro already knew exactly what he wanted to do, so he just grinned at the opportunity that just opened up for him.

It seems like Zoro has found a treasure trove of legendary swords and artifacts. Though whether that is a stroke of luck or his downfall is entirely YOUR choice~
