EARLY/UNCUT: Breaking Bad Season 5: Episode 3 "Hazard Pay" | REACTION

Comments

The prisoner who enters the room was the manager of the industrial laundry that hid Fring's lab.

Kelly Parks

He did just that!

Lori LaPorte

in fact Vince Gilligan's pitch for this show was he wanted to 'turn Mr Chips into Scarface'

Great reaction!! So Walt and Walt Jr. were watching "Scarface" which is about a big time drug dealer going off the rails. And the irony is not lost on Skylar. I think she thinks it's a little too close to home.

Lori LaPorte

Also no matter whose side you're on in this show, you're gonna get shit from people lol. If you had attacked Walt in the beginning, there would've been an equal amount of people upset with you for that.

At the end of the day, Walt still made $125,000 for one week's worth of work. Most people would be lucky to make that amount of money in a year.

Hey man, keep up the great work! In the movies, bad guys always rule with an iron fist and everyone is too afraid to speak. In real life, when crime bosses kill off employees too easily or flippantly, the ones who are still alive tend to run to the police much easier in exchange for protection. I mean, employees at regular jobs often feel like "the writing is on the wall" when management starts screwing up, so imagine instead of the company going out of business, the crime ring breaks down and anyone who flips is a target (and whoever flips first gets a better deal in the legal system). Mike is trying to ensure there are no leaks by encouraging loyalty, rather than trying to squeeze so hard that everything slips through your fingers. They're also in a compromised situation with Fring dead - everyone knows the cartel is in shambles and the State-side infrastructure is gone as well. Enforcement through fear isn't a great option for them right now. That said, loving the reactions and your enthusiasm for the show. And yeah, everything looks different on a re-watch! Cheers!

Okay, we’re done with the slow ramp up episodes, now the fun starts

Ryan Roach

One of my fav episodes! I love that cook scene.

RD

That was a dick move by Mike not mentioning the legacy costs (a huge amount) until they were literally divvying up the money.
