You might see Doctor Octopus and this Spider-Man crossing into the MCU in the future. There are some rumours about the next Spider-Man movie. As you commented the birth of Doc Oc was like a horror movie. Sam Rami, this movie's director was a horror movie director. He will direct Dr. Strange 2 which is supposed to be a kind of horror movie!
