2021-03-10 19:48:33 +0000 UTCI agree completely! I knew it would be a solid movie when I saw the cast it had. There wasn't one complaint from me, the acting, cast, performances, message of the film etc. were all brilliant and it'd definitely one of the best musicals I've seen! Racism is something that just completely baffles me, really do not understand how so much hate is involved regarding someones skin colour it's absolutely ridiculous! I appreciate your thoughts and comments as always and thank you for watching and supporting everything I do! :)

It's fun, it's vibrant, it has a very powerful message that's emotional, and the casting for each of its characters is phenomenal. :) I love John Travolta as Edna Turnblad. He's hilarious as Tracy's mother. And I love John Travolta in pretty much all of the movies he's ever been in. Especially Grease. I grew up watching Grease along with a number of musicals, so musicals are among my favorite movie genres to watch. I'm so happy you enjoyed watching this movie too. I love seeing brilliant actors I love like Christopher Walken (Wilbur Turnblad), Queen Latifah (Motormouth Maybelle), James Marsden (Corny Collins), Zac Efron (Link Larkin), Jerry Stiller (Mr. Pinky), and Michelle Pfeiffer (Velma Von Tussle). Amanda Bynes (Penny Pingleton) is also cute in this movie. This was back when she was still making good movies, before she went off the deep end and sadly screwed up her life. As for the newer, or unknown actors at the time... I really like Nikki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad, Elijah Kelley as Seaweed, Taylor Parks as Little Inez, and Brittany Snow as Amber Von Tussle. Every character in this movie is just fun and I enjoy this movie through and through. As for my favorite songs from this movie... I love Queen Latifah's song... I Know Where I've Been as they're marching. I also love Without Love sung by most of the main cast just after the cops break up the march, You Can't Stop the Beat sung by the entire cast at the pageant, and of course... Run and Tell That sung by Seaweed and Little Inez. They're all fun, but these songs stand out to me that much more than the rest. Overall... I absolutely love the main storyline of these people fighting to come together as equals and to not constantly be seen by the colors of their skin. It's so tragic that racism exists, even still today just as much as it did back in the 60s, if not even more so today. And what's worse is that it isn't just the White people who hate Blacks, but today the racism is reversed, as Black people hate White people just as much. And racism exists among every people. I absolutely hate it. We are all equals. The colors of our skin, cultures, religious beliefs, etc... shouldn't matter and yet there are so many people who hate for no reasons at all. They hate just to hate. It was far worse back in the 60s when this movie was set in, but racism is very much alive today too and it breaks my heart. Thankfully, this movie ends on a high note and with a heartfelt and happy message, as those who are Black and White officially become integrated. :) Thank you so much! I really had a lot of fun rewatching Hairspray again with you. :) I can't wait for more movie reactions from you like always! Until next time...
