On “cap”: I think the origin is in black slang, namely the phrase “high cappin.” High capping meant to pose as someone of higher status, i.e., someone who in previous eras would have worn a tall hat. Like everything on the internet circa 2024, it gets repurposed and degraded and becomes less specific, mostly because people want to use the cool new word. (See also: “red pill.”) So what starts as a linguistically interesting way to take the piss out of somebody becomes yet another way to say “bullshit.” I don’t think we needed another synonym for that word, since we have more than a few, but I wasn’t consulted. Funny and somewhat related is the use of another black slang derivation, “clap back.” White girls on the internet seem to think it means “a sassy rejoinder” and you often see it paired with the clapping hands emoji. It actually refers to guns violence. “Clap back” means to return fire, and the reference is to the sound the handgun makes when firing and rechambering. See: 90s rap act Originoo Gunn Clappaz, “buck back,” etc. I’ll leave the jokes about the irony of woke white girls at Cosmopolitan.com doing cultural appropriation to you.

Bungie was known before Halo for « Myth The Fallen Lords » series.. medieval fantasy army vs undead legions That was a really cool different game to all the Command & Conquer clones at the time because it was not just 2D - had actual 3D environments and physics engine Most important unit was bomb throwers, they could bounce all over the place and bits of ghouls and metal flying everywhere Also no building just worked with what you had keep your soldiers alive The online competitive or coop was very fun, huge games. There is still a die hard community that plays those 1997 and 1998 games today (mainly based off Soulblighter)
