Well it was worth giving it a go...

https://youtu.be/FoZgdIKnsCE

A shorter video this week - however it does include a ‘comedy’ outro section.

In other news - I think I’m finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on the video I’ve been working at (on and off) for a few weeks. If I manage to finish that this weekend - it will be out next week.

I've also been saving up interesting (and no so interesting) tidbits to include in a patreon exclusive video that I plan to shoot later in the week.

UPDATE: Corrected version now above (info about the Amps drawn by the turntable - thanks to Holger)

UPDATE 2: I underestimated the importance of mentioning I was already using an alternative 60hz system that worked fine - (shown at 02:20) and the purpose of this video was to try a simpler all-in-one battery powered alternative.

Also there’s been a bit of doubt about whether the buzz was really a side effect of the modified sine wave conversion - so felt I needed to include a pure sine comparison.

To fix these omissions I've spent the evening digging in the attic for my other 60hz system that uses a Pure Sine Wave converter (and as a result doesn't buzz).

I've now shot and edited in a (very quick) comparison - and also managed to get the video to 09:59 now - which was my original intention.  Hopefully this slight re-edit will help to mitigate the (inevitable) friction when it debuts on YouTube.

I definitely would have been wiser to skip this video. I’ll do an update in the next Patreon only video.

Well, the inverter didn't work, but the puppets did :)

Unfortunately they don't sell the 40V system at all in the UK - so no batteries and no charger. Those would have to be imported in some way from the US, and the batteries would have to be charged via a US 120v charger run through a step down power transformer - Not something I'd be willing to do for a prolonged period. It would also cost a good few hundred pounds - the set-up I show in this video cost me £200 in the end. I feel I'm much better off just sticking with the existing system I've been using for the last couple of years that works well and isn't costing me anything.

The 40V system from Ryobi uses Pure Sine Wave and 120v at 2.5 amp so 300W. I think it would work for what you want and the Powersource is only $100 so not much more expensive than the one you got now. Just need the 40V battery. Some of those 40V battery last for ages as well, comes in 2 ,4 and 5 Amp Hour. We use them at my house and love them.
