[Babe Runner] Babe runn...ing.

While running after crooks with a D cup slapping you in the face it's no walk in the park -it's a run, indeed...ha! run/walk...get it? No?...Ok forget about it-
clearing out our TODO list before release is not any easier.

Well, we're pretty much in the testing stage and releasing should be a matter of days, now.
But like I said, we ran into loads of issues which took some time to (successfully) fix...Most meaningful one being the save/load mode: it was breaking the game like nothing before.

It had to be said we've been testing saving under the most uneventful of circumstances (like during animated cutscenes) but testing is testing and you go "extreme" for a reason, I guess...And we went. And we fixed.
So far so good, then.

Also, we're making sure achievements work the way they're meant to work. And apparently, they do...But I'm gonna talk "details" such as jobs (a girl's gotta eat, no matter her cups size) and much more in the next updates.

Stay tuned, stay...On the run! ^^

They can indeed, and don't get me wrong...I have nothing against Harrison Ford, it just smells like a potential Cash grab. The fact that 30 years later he's still alive while the whole world thought he was a replicant too (and so bind to a 4 years lifespan) represents a "whole new depth" of its own. A lot was left untold and I hope they would tell us in a way that makes sense, at least (I tried myself, in BABE Runner ^^). And yes, that's was exactly what I meant with "complex story arches". They deliberately omitted loads of infos/details while emphasizing personality traits whose very existence I've ignored. Like I said, Olga Kurylenko could've been a better match for Motoko (Given she was provided with a "moaning-free" script).

I know that you need to make compromises to adapt something but there is a difference between going light on the story and making a story that is not a bit smart and cliche.Even if you say that the story is good enough, they totally fucked up Major and made her cry about, that she is not human, all the time which is a huge departure from the badass that was the Major in the anime. My opinion to adaptations is if you cannot bring something new to the table, why even bother. Sequels that feature older Actors/Characters can make a great movie because I think that age can bring some new depth to an already great Character.Let's hope that the new BR is not a simple Cash grab.

Hi Raziel ^^ Yes, I did...And all that I can say is, hollywood writers tend to avoid complex story arches as the one behind the original anime. Obviously they do that for a number of reasons (movie duration+a simplified story would more likely appeal to masses) and disappointing true fans in the process is considered as "collateral". Also, staying loyal to such a deep story as GITS is a risk. I had to make this call with Babe Runner too, questioning myself like "How much should I pull from the movie", "How loyal should I stay to the original plot" and so on...And trust me when I say, it's no easy call. You stay too close and it turns into a parody, you keep too much distance and it turns into a completely different thing. And "Halfway" is even more dangerous because...Well, it's halfway: it might be "not enough" to call it anything. So yeah, I can only praise the guts they had for even trying, because it was no easy task (and yes, they've partially failed). And PS: I love Scarlett Johansson, I really do. She's hot and all that. But maybe "too hot" for her role and she felt out of place all the time: I prolly would've chosen someone else to play Motoko (Olga Kurylenko?). Anyway. As of Blade Runner 2048...Well. I have to say I'm not an huge fan of "sequels" in general, and even less a fan of those sequels featuring 30 years older actors like Harrison Ford. Pretty much felt the same about the Stallone/Rocky saga (watching "sly" with a belly on him in Rocky 6 was really something. A "depressing" something). I really hope it wouldn't turn into a bad attempt to "revive" a cult movie by just gambling on keywords such as "Blade Runner" + "Harrison Ford". Villeneuve as a director sounds promising, tho. We'll see. ^^
