"The Big Picture"...

...No, the post title has nothing to do with the size of the picture (yet it's one big picture itself, lol) but with upgrading, improving, preparing for what's gonna happen after Babe Runner.

Many of you may object "Babe Runner is not even out yet and you're thinking about what's next already, duuude"?  And they would be right, as Babe Runner is not out...Yet at some point it will be, tho. But they'd be totally wrong about the "thinking about what's next" part, as one of my favorite statements ever is "Estote Parati"...Which is the latin saying for "Be Ready" (romans were my closest ancestors, after all ^^). It's planning. Or minding the so called "big picture".

The reason why Babe Runner is taking this long is -other than delays due to private life business and the like- that I've been considering it as a "matrix" from its very beginning. As "The Mother" of many of my following projects, as a testing playground for loads of logic and features that I might adapt and implement into future projects...Like animated characters.

But to do so -or to even "think" about going down that road- you need pretty consistent material for testing. So I've been wise (and bit of a masochist) enough to build Babe Runner characters like nobody else would for a Visual Novel: multi-layered, separeted limbs, individual parts, an extremely tedious and time consuming work until every bit of them could be used as a separate, individual element. Just like the 2D modeler I'm using requires.

So yeah, you might not be seeing animated dolls in Babe Runner, but one day you'll be telling your kids "I remember whenThe Worst told us he was using Nika as a Guinea Pig for the sake of science...Of the animated kind". ;)

And don't forget:

Estote Parati. ;)

Ha! "redefining the genre" may seem a bit cocky of me, so I wouldn't say that. I'd rather go for "trying to deliver something better than the average VN"...Still I'm glad I managed to conquer your eyes, and congrats on quoting Tacitus ;)

Woo-hoo! Secretly redefining the genre, are we? :P This is a very exciting prospect! And, as Tacitus said, "Nam primi in omnibus proeliis oculi vincuntur" (in every battle the eyes are the first to be conquered" - which means you had me at the prospect of all that eye-candy!;)
