Patreon changes ("charge upfront").

I'd never wanted this day to come, as much as I badly wanted it.

"Which kind of day" you might ask? Well, the kind of day when you realize the interest towards your creations has grown to the point that more and more people pledges to you on Patreon, takes a peek at your "exclusive" content (for patrons only), downloads it...Only to cancel their pledge after they're done.

This was the "per creation" way, the kind of charging option that I've chosen when I started. I thought it was fair to charge patrons just upon producing content...And I still believe that.

But in order to preserve both mine and your "commitment" to each other, I'm forced to introduce a change in how Patreon will charge both new and existing Patrons: charge upfront.

more infos on how this works are explained here:

https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/210291283-What-is-charge-up-front-How-do-I-get-it-

Also, this feature "not being available to all creators yet" makes me think that Patreon must've noticed I'm one of the creators who suffered the most from its absence...Or maybe not, who cares. It was just a thought occuring to me while watching my insight stats: 15 actual patrons and an equal amount of "frauds", so far.

What changes for you? Here:

New Patrons: New Patrons will be charged on the day they become your patron, giving them access to all content shared with their reward tier. On the 1st of the following month, they will simply return to being charged monthly at the beginning of the month.

Example: A patron joins your Patreon community on February 25th for $10 per month. They will be charged $10 on the day they join, February 25th, for February patronage. On March 1st, the Patron will be charged $10 for March patronage.

Existing Patrons: Your existing patrons will be charged on the 1st of the month like usual.

So, my Patreon will basically turn into a "tip-jar". At the same time, with all of the game-related things I'm working on (and the queueing projects still yet to come shortly) chances are I'll be kept busy for way too long to make the "Monthly illustration poll" worth the wait. Also, those kind of things are fun when there's a lot more people voting, for it adds variety and a bit of competition among users. This actually never happened to my polls and participation was rather scarce: so I've decided to cancel it (...for now?^^).

So, my dear Patrons: you're gonna be charged on January the 1st next time, no matter I release anything or not, and it's gonna be like this for the months to come. Patreon considers this as a "permanent change" and there will not be coming back.

So let me just remind you that you're totally free to cancel your pledge at anytime and I will not holding grudges nor harsh feelings at all: cancel and come back later,  cancel for good...Do as you wish, no worries. :)

I only hope you'd understand how much I hated doing this and at the same time, how much it was necessary to value my efforts and yours.

In the end:

"MUCH LOVE" to you guys, whether you'll be choosing to stay or not.

...and...

..."PLEDGE NOW, BITCHES" to all of the miserable lowlives who pretended to pledge only to steal my patrons content.

P.S.

Enjoy the "Tuchmi Sunday" animated bg (Babe Runner's game sushi bar)...And please don't mind the interface: that's still work in progress. ;)

And you'll be always welcome at my corner, my friend: "humble dollar" or not. ;)

If you ask me, it's a wise move, man! There's nothing wrong with the whole "patreon as tip jar" approach. The Stibbons and his humble dollar will remain at your corner! :)
