Early access to my new video - The RCA Videodisc

Hello Patrons, I'd like to thank you so much for your support, so as a reward (of sorts) I wanted to give you early access to a video that I'll be releasing to the public in approx 6 hours time (4PM in the UK).

Monday morning probably isn't best time to release a new video. I was hoping to have it finished on Sunday, but the editing took longer than anticipated... (four days!).

Incidentally it's a thirty minute video  (which in all honesty is probably a good ten minutes too long).

Anyway, thanks again for your support.

Mat.

I understand, whilst it's interesting...it's not something that I could enjoy watching.

I really enjoyed this video. I've often considered picking up a CED player just for curiosity - I've decided now to save my money!

Yes the youtube comments are often a source of aggravation and it's a good point you make about posting the videos here too. I'll try to remember to do this in future.

Thirty minutes, its a Techmoan EP... As someone who has cannibalised several devices to create a working specimen, you just can't better that sense of satisfaction when your efforts are successful. Thanks for the pre-release access.

Excellent video Mat. I agree with Chris C when he says that the obscure products are fun and interesting. I enjoy the way you separate your videos into organized segments providing overview, history, how they function, and so on. Also, I really appreciate you posting the video here. Regardless of if it's released earlier or even at the same time as YouTube, this allows for a great place to give you thoughts and not be in the middle of the hot mess that is the YouTube comment section. Thanks for video!

Terrific video! It's always an extra bit of fun when it's one of these obscure formats. There's something charming about the way the disc had to be loaded, even if it looks terribly daft in the days of sub-5-inch discs and digital downloads/streaming.

Chris C.

Thanks for giving us a sneaky first look :)

My repair skills are very limited...if it's mechanical I can often figure it out, but if it's electronic, then I'm out of my depth. However this experience with the Videodisc machines has encouraged me to buy some more 'In need of repair' tech off eBay to see if it's a simple fix I can handle. It's a bit of a gamble, but it's also a lot of fun.

I got a new Apple TV when they first came out but it's given me a lot of problems. It just kept freezing. I even swapped it out once in the Apple shop, but the replacement acted very similar. I ended up sticking it in the drawer and sticking to the built in apps in my new TV for Netflix and Amazon as they support 4K and HDR (the TV is a 4K OLED).

Awesome vid bud. Nice work as usual. Would love to see an Apple TV 4 review.

Loved the video, I really like the repair section, I think you should do more video's like this in the future please. :) -ShuhDonk
