Over the last few days, I got to play 9 hours of the network test for Dark Souls 3. These are all the new major mechanics.

I've never caught on to the technique needed to parry in Dark Souls 2. And the punch before a back stab always seemed pointless to me. I like what I see in the Dark Souls 3 so far, and I can't WAIT for it to come out!
