Progress Report - 4/25/2022

Hey Fans,

We've got some big scenes coming up which I'm going to start making today. Charmed should be huge and might take me a few weeks. While I'm working on that, I'll finish risenshine and keepsake.

Project Zero, the Chapter One update with the new models, is coming along just fine. It does take away a small amount of time. I have my second computer loading the scenes, then I load the new model, save, queue the renders at night on the second machine. It takes up as little time as is possible, and it's moving at a brisk pace. It should be finished around the middle of next month.

I have two 3090's setup in my main computer now, but unfortunately one 3090 wouldn't go into my computer. It's sitting outside the computer utilizing a riser, and being held up by two cell phone stands. It's so ghetto, but it works!

There have been so many issues lately, it's boggling my mind. This whole process of creating AVNs is not an artistic process, it's a problem solving process. Every day there is a new problem. My speaker died last week, my keyboard died last week, the SLI bridge for the 3090's won't fit. Why can't things just work? You know?

I know listening to the MC talk about Madds Medusa, and write the story, is boring. Suzi has come up with a new way for the MC to tell his story. She's going to act out the scenes for you as you explain them to her utilizing the ARGs. It'll make more sense in the game. Now you'll be able to watch Madds Medusa unfold instead of having to read about it.

That's all I have for you guys this week. I'm still aiming for the late June release.

Thanks for all your support, and farewell for now.

Thank you! I do like to think my stories have some weight. A nice balance between plot and sexy time is the goal. I have three 3090's now. Two in one machine, and one in another. The second machine is for rendering animations. It'll allow me to experiment with making a bit longer animations. Honestly, I think three might have been overkill. I'm hoping the two in my main machine will make previews render faster so I can work fast, and get you guys content faster. The heat from these things is insane though!

It's a different time, and a different world. I can't imagine how the greats of old would hold up today if they were thrust into modern society and tried to create art. It would certainly be interesting.

That's alright, everyone has their own interests here. I try to cater to everyone the best I can. I knew not everyone would enjoy those mini-episodes. That's why I put the 'Skip' option in them. I did it with Suzi too. A lot of her dialogue is skippable. Many of the stories I make intertwine. Suzi is originally from Avalon, and then she's a big part of Penny for Your Thoughts. There are some elements from Penny's short prologue that will be explored deeper in The Rose Garden trilogy. I might bundle them all up into one big project some day.

Great that you give the story so much thought and texture. A good AVN should be able to keep us hooked even without the sex, and you manage that easily. On another note…TWO 3090s?! I look at my single 1650 and weep!

Can you imagine if Dickens had to put up with pcs? His writing would never have progressed past the Penny Dreadful stories. I should say Penny Dreadful articles.

D'oh! I didn't mean to insult your first effort (I actually had assumed it was an Easter Egg shout out to someone else's game, I've seen that in some of these), and in fact if it were an interactive situation like this and Petal Among Thorns, I'm sure I'd be that much more invested.

I actually enjoy watching the story within the story (Mads Medusa) come to life. I'm an avid reader and I don't see the writing, within the context of AMOB, as being a wall of text. It is simply part of the background story (and interesting as well) that helps explain how the MC will make a living while being more available for his ladies. I'll enjoy this part of the story whether it is all text, a hybrid of text and imagery like your example above or purely imagery with enough story to tie each image into the greater whole. Thanks for the update!

I also enjoyed The Time Collector bits.

It was hit or miss for everyone, but I enjoyed making them. I'm glad you found them interesting.

I might (or might not) be in the minority, but the little movies they watched kind of made me want more schlocky, cheesy, B movie sci-fi/fantasy AVNs :D

The Time Collector was the first visual novel I ever started on. I know it was probably a little boring in A Petal Among Thorns, but it was a nice throw back to my roots for me. A space story was way beyond my capabilities then. Now I feel like I could handle it. With the new Madds Medusa storytelling, it's really more about showcasing Suzi's capabilities. But it is nice to actually see these characters in action. Chloe looks exactly as I had pictured her in my head. It's wild how that came to fruition.

Maybe it's because I'm a wannabe writer, but I actually enjoy those brief meta moments of brainstorming a story within the story, and it's not like they're super long or anything. (I kinda prefer VN's that give me a break between sex scenes.) But I totally understand changing it if enough other people were complaining. (The only thing I actually zone out a little during is the space show they'd sometimes watch. *pause* That is in this series, right? I might be confusing it with something else. It feels disconnected enough that I'm not sure. My apologies if I'm mixing my games.)
