I just wanted to say thank you for supporting me during this rough patch. I've been showered with positive messages, condolences, and warmth over the last week. It kept me going when I wasn't sure I could.
When I started writing novels, I wanted simply to draw out a specific feeling in my readers; Joy. I wanted the player to feel loved, cared for, adored, and happy. The real world is so damn hard to navigate sometimes. It's nice to be able to fall back into a fantasy where there are people that love you unconditionally.
We're living in a difficult time. The world is changing, people are changing. It's hard for a lot of us to keep up. The pandemic has driven most people inside, away from social contact and often unable to find romance and love due to social isolation. My work, and many others in this industry, simulate the love and affection that we all require. It provides a synthetic solution to a growing problem we all face in this altered world.
My goal was never to do harm. I don't believe anyone in this industry is trying to hurt anyone else. We're all just looking for a healthy outlet that allows us to indulge in the warm embrace of positive emotions. That's how I want to affect the world, that's what I want to bring to people. A sense of fulfillment so your day is a little less dark, and a little more inspired.
I'm going to continue my work because I strongly believe I am a positive influence on the world thanks to my stories. It gives me purpose everyday to wake up knowing I'm going to bring joy to someone today.

Keep up the good work! You are absolutely right - our world has become more distant to many of us and stories like APAT help to close that gap and remind us that joy found through great stories is still joy that we would not have had without the stories. Thanks for sharing a bit of light to help keep today's darker shadows at bay.
