Penny for Your Thoughts - Decision

Hey Supporters,

I've had some ideas for Penny's game, but A Moment of Bliss has become a significantly more ambitious project than I had anticipated last year. I wanted to hear from my supporters what they'd like to see me dedicate my time to.

Penny is a character I'm extremely passionate about. I'd love to give her the attention she deserves. However, I also have to consider you guys. Your investment in me has given me the chance to quit my day job and work on my novels full time. Splitting my time between two games would significantly reduce the speed at which I can crank out releases. Especially now that I'm adding interactive mechanics to AMoB.

So I'm going to leave the decision to my fans. If you guys want, I can focus all my efforts on AMoB for now. If you'd like me to put Penny on hold while I invest my time in AMoB, I'll try to find another way to bring her story to fruition. I may just spend a few hours a week writing the story as a novel with no visuals, which would give me experience in writing. Or I might find another artist to do the artwork later to reduce my own time spent on it.

Let me know what you all would prefer and we'll go from there.

Thank you for all your support!

Not too sure if this is just a hobby, part-job, or something else for you entirely. Do what comes naturally to you if it's a hobby and keep that hobby time free from stress. If it's a job, you might want to look at maybe setting short-term, attainable goals and reevaluating those goals every couple of weeks. We call that working in "sprints" in the software world. Either way, I'm happy to support your efforts and buy you a cup of coffee every month.

As you know I would really like to get more Penny content, but you are the creative mind and creative does not run on a strict schedule. So of course take your time and do what you think works best, regarding the outcome. I support you for your work, not for some specific content. (And maybe one day I'll also find the time to play APaT).

I think you can do both at the same time without losing focus. Just have to take care of yourself to avoid burnout.

I know what its like to juggle multiple projects on the same timeline. There are side effects like content dilution and loss of effective use of time and resources. I say focus on one and finish it before continuing with the other. I can imagine how much effort goes into one AVN. Doing two at the same time is ambitious but without the right resources it may only lead to frustration and exhaustion.

Because of the burnout rate of people making AVNs are incredibly high, I think it`s safer to go at one project at a time. Biting over more than you can chew can make the games/story loose it`s magic and in worst case make you burn out.

I am really enjoying the Petal trilogy, so I prefer more of this trilogy over Penny. That said - if Penny keeps your creativity flowing and you need a change of pace periodically to refresh - then working on the APAT trilogy and Penny (2/3 & 1/3 respectively for time spent as one example) would also make sense and hopefully be something fans of either or both AVNs would be able to get behind. APAT flowed from your creative mind and heart just as Penny and Avalon did. I think it is very important that you as a creator 'feed' that creative spirit as you need to, even if that means that you ask us for a bit pf patience for whichever AVN story you feel pulled to invest in during a given month (knowing that will mean a delay of some kind for the other).

Team Penny here. I know some developers who work on two stories at the same same time. That is not always a problem like it is for Ocean. For some, it is a necessity to have a break sometime. I would say that is up to you. Do what you feel is good for you.

I signed up during Avalon and fell in love with Penny, Leah and Dallas. I felt Petal was ok but I preferred the other three. But if the crowd wants Bliss, so be it. I'll still be here when you get back to Penny :o)

Agreed! If you're like me, sometimes you need a break after working on something for a while to clear the cobwebs and work on something else. If that happens, by all means, give Penny our love. I'm equally excited for both projects, so you do you!

Expanding Universe Games

I'm a big Penny fan but I think you should probably focus on just one main story line. I don't think it has to be all or nothing though. You can always give Penny some love along the way like TotesNotThea mentioned earlier.

I absolutely love Penny, but my interest in Petal and now Bliss has me too intrigued to not want to see their story ASAP. Just know you have a great story with Penny to return to if you decide to go with AMoB first :)

Work on Bliss, but work on Penny when you want a break from Bliss. Penny deserves the full treatment and nothing less. If you have to wait until after Bliss, so be it.
