Progress Report - 04/25/2021

Dear Patrons,

As you've probably noticed, Penny for Your Thoughts Chapter One has been released out into the wild! Initial impressions have been overwhelmingly positive despite there being numerous grammatical errors and an issue with the point system. I'm going to be rolling out a patch in a day or so once there has been time to iron out more bugs. I'll be releasing PfyT Chapter One to the public on May 9th.

That means we were nearly two weeks ahead of schedule with this release. Chapter Two looks like it's going to be considerably longer. But you've probably noticed the Progress Tome only has a few scenes on it. Let me explain.

I don't plan out the details of my novels because a lot changes as the characters grow and develop. I have a rough outline of the path I'm going to take and a general end point for where I want some of the characters to be when I conclude Chapter Four. Again, if Penny does well, I have more I can do with her game and we'll easily be able to do much more than just four Chapters but I don't want to commit to too much too early. 

Jinx has been a fan favorite so far. When I started, I didn't plan on her having a big role in Penny's game but since she's been so well received, and if she continues that good reception, I'll make it a priority to give her additional scenes. 

Some of you may remember that in Avalon there was a feature on the character's cell phones that acted as a smart assistant. I'd like to introduce you to an updated version of Suzi. She won't have a large part in PfyT but we'll see her a few times here and there. She'll emulate human emotions to draw people closer to the application. This emotional system will be implemented as a way to bond people to her, inspiring them to stay loyal to the corporation that created her. 

While she is used as a tool to increase and maintain sales, we'll also find she is extremely useful and helpful in certain situations. She's also freakin' adorbs! I hope you like her! 

That's all I have for you today. Chapter Two is in the works. I mentioned a late July release in the first release and I'm going to aim for that. I'll keep you posted!
