Dead Poets Society - Full Length Reaction

This movie is another example of Robin Williams' talent. A stand-up comedian proves that some in that profession can be amazing dramatic actors. There are other examples in several other movies. Very emotional scenes. Great reaction Camilla. Loved it.

love this! I also had a really great AP US history teacher, and she had us read Howard Zinn's text too. it was a really great, eye-opening class, and she was definitely on that list of memorable teachers. thanks for sharing!

I just watched your Dead Poets Society reaction on YT and I just wanted to add my two cents. I transferred into a school like this in my sophomore year but it wasn’t a boarding school and the dress code was bit more relaxed: shirt with a collar tucked in and no jeans. The only exception were days were we had Mass and we were required to wear a white or light blue long sleeved shirt with dark dress pants and shoes with the school tie which I still have to this day. So, the best experiences I ever had with teachers or administrators were from former students of the school. They were so chill and relatable and even the clergy were so cool and chill. Because I was a transfer I didn’t get the Frosh experience everyone else in the school did so I was the odd one out at many things. But I eventually found my group and in the mean time the teachers were amazing except for one Calculus AB teacher where she will not be named but every other math teacher has been my favorite with the exception of a certain AP US History teacher. Mr. O’Connor, if you ever read this, you are an amazing teacher and I apologize for our class. “A People’s History of the United States” was an amazing read even though you didn’t agree with the idea Howard Zinn was getting at. You were the one to open up our minds and challenge us and we were all grateful when you did that study group just before our AP test. In short, this a great movie. Teachers are great!

ah thanks! I've never even heard of that one!

The early 90s loved movies set in boys prep schools. School Ties (1992) stars Brendan Fraser, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Chris O'Donnell is another good one, though it's not the exact same vibe as this.

I remember really liking this movie 30 years ago. An emotional-feeling rewatch for me along with your good reaction. I liked your outro. Suicide is not the answer. Neil would turned 18 in less than a year and could have got a job doing manual labor -- and acting in the local theater on the side -- that's better than death. Ethan Hawke was the new kid. You can tell he is a good actor, even at this young age. Of course, Robin Williams was excellent. The movie nominated for Oscars for Best Picture, Best Actor (Robin Williams), and Best Director. The movie won Oscar for best screenplay. GOOD WILL HUNTING (1997) An excellent movie with Robin Williams is "Good Will Hunting" (1997) written by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Nominated for 9 Oscars including Best Picture, Best Actor (Matt Damon), Best Supporting Actor (Robin Williams), and Best Supporting Actress (Minnie Driver). Won Oscars for Best Director and Best Screenplay (Matt Damon, Ben Affleck).

It was on her most recent poll last week and it was second to dead last.

Happy Friday, Camilla. I just joined your Patreon today. Dead Poets Society (1989) is my all-time favorite Robin Williams movie. I first watched it in my English class in my senior year of high school and I enjoyed it. Carpe Diem, Seize the Day, Live your Life to the Fullest. Now I need to get Addie Counts to watch this movie. #DeadPoetsSocietyForAddieCounts
