Update: Patreon new sales tax

But before we can talk some more about the games and future plans, we need to take care of some administrative stuff:
Due to new laws passing in several countries and US states, Patreon will be required to start charging sales tax in 18 additional countries starting July 1st.
If you're in the EU, nothing changes for you because you've been paying VAT since 2015 already. In some other countries (most importantly Quebec and 36 US states), you might notice a small additional fee on your pledge amount.
Apart from location, the kind of reward you receive also influences the sales tax. I've done my best to mark most rewards as tax-exempts for the US but I don't know how Patreon will handle that.
This is all very complicated but there's no need to worry. It's hard to estimate how many of you will be taxed and how much that tax will be, so we'll just have to see what happens.
This shouldn't affect your pledge for June but if you have any questions or problems, please send me a message directly. I'm not an expert in international tax law but I promise that we'll find a solution for any issues that may occur.
