2024-10-16 20:47:59 +0000 UTCHello from AK! We have a pea gravel potty area and love it! This is actually the 2nd one we have built (built the 2nd one after moving to our current house). What we changed on this 2nd one was to rim it with retaining wall block to keep the gravel from migrating outside of the area and to lay chicken wire down first before bringing in the pea gravel. You wouldn't think dogs would want to dig through gravel but ours did! The chicken wire under the gravel is a cheap way to deter this. PS. Our poop yard is under snow 5 months of the year and still works great! The poop really stands out for scooping. You do get yellow snow lol so my husband always gives to a good spray down with the hose during spring break up. Dogs don't seem to care whether they are doing their business on snow vs gravel. ha ha

2024-10-15 12:34:05 +0000 UTCI was going to use pea gravel but I used a bigger rock type. I think they something about it shifting.

2024-10-14 16:19:42 +0000 UTCI made a potty area for my dogs. I dug deep, maybe 1/2 foot deep. Then put gravel, smashed it in. Then tip with a neutralizer and place fake grass over it. And then more neutralizer. Hope this turns out the way you like. Oh! You should out some type one cover so there is no snow on it in the winter time.

2024-10-14 03:45:31 +0000 UTCYou could possibly do a electrically heated mat under the potty area to keep it clear of snow during winter. Would need to be waterproof of course

2024-10-14 02:55:24 +0000 UTCRight?! I did not want to find poop all over the yard so this seems like a great thing to have and train. Will share the details as it goes!

2024-10-13 22:46:31 +0000 UTCI'm VERY interested in your potty area project. I don't have to worry about snow except for maybe a day or two IF that, but I'm kinda over an entire back yard that's a potty area. š¤·š¼
