Sooo... I got a concussion...

Wow, I am so sorry about the lack of follow through last month. I took Capri up skiing two Thursdays ago and it was insanely windy conditions. She goes every Thursday as part of her school program for PE which is really cool but this season has been a terrible snow season for us with below freezing temps (-50 on the mountain with windchill on a stretch there) and its been real hit or miss (mostly miss) up there.
I had no idea such insanely windy conditions would = snow drifts and I didn't see them and I got launched and took a very, very hard fall. I still don't really remember what happened other than I saw some little flags a little too late at full speed where I expected it to be flat... and I got launched multiple times into the air and did not stick the landing(s).
The next day I couldn't move or open my eyes and my head hurt so bad. I was on a Zoom call with some of my team members when I just couldn't handle looking at the screen and they convinced me to go get checked out that evening... I got diagnosed with a mild concussion and was told absolutely no screen time if I could help it. Lights and noises pretty much sent me reeling.
Yesterday was the first day I could open my laptop and I am seeing how behind I am on posting certain content and for that I sincerely apologize. I did not expect to be out for that amount of time and some things are filmed or done much more in the moment and missed deadlines I'd set for them that I'm sure you guys all expect as well. So I will be catching up this month from what things we missed last month but slowly because I still require limited screen time or I get dizzy spells.
On top of all of that, I got some bloodwork and saliva tests back and in my doctor's words... "I'm a dumpster fire". So I will be going through some pretty serious rounds of detoxifying my body - ironically, I am actually having iron storage issues which takes me back to Rocko and his treatments. I'm having insulin resistance, and all sorts of things going on health wise that I am currently trying to navigate (sorry if that was TMI for some of you...) but am hoping to get all caught up... so please bear with me. Things might be rolling out a little slower than usual.
xoxo Jamieleigh

2024-02-04 15:51:20 +0000 UTCPlease don’t apologize for taking care of yourself. Take good care and do what you need to do to heal your body. Don’t worry about all that is not done. It will make your recovery 10x’s more difficult. Take one day at a time, breathe and listen to your body. 😍

2024-02-04 13:06:21 +0000 UTCHope you get well soon , Jamie. Your health should be your no. 1 priority. "Without us being healthy , we cannot take care of our own family." This is what I read from a blog years ago, and I couldn't agree more. Take care of yourself. 🫶🏼

2024-02-04 06:25:40 +0000 UTCThe only thing we *expect* of you is that you take care of yourself, so do that, please and thank you. And watch that iron, it can be tricky. I had undiagnosed severe anemia for literally years even to the point where a lot of my hair fell out til they finally figured out what it was and got me back on track. And fortunately my hair came back (and I will never cut it again). Be well.

2024-02-04 04:05:02 +0000 UTCOh Jamieleigh,I've been waiting to hear about this concussion. I've had visions of bird divings! 😯 As a recovered skiier, I'm glad to hear it was something much less fearsome. I wish you quick healing mercies and as far as your bloodwork showing that you're a dumpster fire...I'm glad to hear you're gonna take the time it takes to work on you because as we hear every time we fly...put your oxygen mask on first before helping others. You're no good to others if you're not here! Hugs!! As my favorite horse trainer says...take the time it takes before it takes more time. Get well. We'll be here.🥰❤️
