Happy 4th, Latchkeys!
Independence Day is right around the corner in Degoya County, so let's get ready to chomp down on crime! This week's release is Dog Told Me To, a mystery for Public Access. It was written by Jack Hargreaves, with artwork by Joshua Clark, and layout by Ben Mansky.
In the late evening hours of July 4th, 1981, police found ten-year-old Benjamin Castle wandering the streets of Deep Lake alone wearing a plastic cartoon dog mask and blood-soaked pajamas. They would later find the bodies of the Castle family, whose deaths had been so gruesomely violent that it was unimaginable a child his age could possess the strength to execute them. Only baby sister Cassandra was left untouched. When asked what happened, he allegedly whimpered: "Officer Barker told me to."
Cassandra was adopted and remained in Deep Lake. With another Independence Day weekend just around the corner, Cassandra March has come to you with concerning news...
This mystery is equal parts Halloween and Stephen King's IT. The town of Deep Lake is experiencing a peculiar string of violent activity, with each perpetrator claiming not to remember their actions. But all of them remember seeing someone dressed up as a St. Bernard in a policeman's uniform shortly before blacking out. How will the Latchkeys fare when they face an entity of their utmost fears, all while it wears the face of an anti-crime mascot? Play to find out.
We hope you all enjoy this great new mystery! That's all for new. We'll be back soon with new goodies to share. Wherever you are, whatever you celebrate, we thank you for your continued support.
Ta-ta for now.
