Appreciate the detailed comment! That’s interesting about the Kawai situation because I never noticed her subtle bullying and I can agree with Ueno opinion. I also didn’t catch Nishimiya signing goobye at the fireworks even though I thought it was odd she was leaving without her family. Now I’m upset I didn’t recognize my Haiji’s VA granted I haven’t seen that anime years lol.

No matter how many times I watch this movie I always end up crying a few times. It is a true tear-jerker! The grandmother's funeral always gets me, especially when we see the white butterfly with the spot just like Ita's beauty spot. The build-up to Nishimiya leaving the fireworks and then Ishida seeing her attempt suicide is another teary-eyed moment; especially on a second watch when you realise every other time she left Ishida, Nishimiya always signed "see you later". Before leaving the fireworks though she signed the more formal way of saying "goodbye" that can also be translated as "farewell". And then when Lit starts to play at the end as Ishida gains the strength and will to listen and look at everyone around him; that moment never fails to make me cry.
I have noticed from other reactions to this movie that male reactors tend to question Kawai being considered a bully to Nishimiya, but female reactors tend to notice the more subtle type of bullying that Kawai does (and never apologises for or owns up to). It's because she doesn't apologise and continually tries to make out the others are wrong about her actions that make me dislike her more than Ueno. Ueno is much more direct in her dislike of Nishimiya and that's honestly easier to deal with than someone being two-faced the way Kawai is so much of this film.
This movie also has three voice actors from three of my favourite sports anime: Ishida is voiced by Irino Miyu, Sugawara's voice actor from Haikyuu!!; Nagatsuka is voiced by Ono Kensho, Kuroko's voice actor from Kuroko's Basketball; and Mashiba is voiced by Toyonaga Toshiyuki,Haiji's voice actor from Run with the Wind.
