2025-04-07 15:21:30 +0000 UTCDon't recall if anybody ever mentioned this to you, but almost every year on Subaru's birthday the author did a what if story, which basically covered if Subaru took a different route. The flashing images of when Gluttony ate Rem's memories and name, the images of her as a grown up carrying children is a reference to them. In the sloth what if story, Subaru and Rem actually do runaway together and start a family. The images you saw were adult Rem holding her and Subaru's children. Sad asf to see her lose that future with him π

2025-04-07 10:56:25 +0000 UTCThis is Subaru's first actual loss of the series. Rem has had the biggest impact on him in the series thus far, pulling him out of his bottomless despair. Even if Rem pulled him out it, he still shows remnants of it even in this episode as you can see. Up till this point, his only redeemable factor in his eyes is his ability to save everyone, at the cost of his life. But now he can't even do that. Prepare for the lasting effects of his low self esteem. Also, Puck doesn't remember Rem I think you just misread it.
