If you didn't realize yet, this series basically uses only German terms/things as names, and since I'm German I want to translate most of the important names in Frieren. There is meaning and intent behind all of these, but I'll keep it short. Frieren = Freezing, may be interpreted as a feeling, representing Frierens character, Himmel = Sky/Heaven, In German heaven and sky are both called himmel. Eisen = Iron, meaning is kind of self-explanetory. Heiter = Jolly, Fern = distant, remote, Stark = strong (adjective), Lügner = Liar, Kraft = Power/strength. I'm probably going to make a longer one once Lax is caught up. Like I said there is a lot that can be analyzed here. Every name has a deeper meaning and this isn't even half of the things that have German names.

Yes, Frieren is gonna take the exam to be a first class mage, since as Granat explained you need at least one first class mage to travel in the northen part of the region. Always love your reactions, keep it up!
