So the thing with nobody taking action against the CITY GUARDS while Frieren was being taken to jail... is because, well, they're literally the city guards. They're the law enforcement of that town. You don't just attack or assault people like that, even if they're arresting the wrong person. Our little trio are not trying to become wanted fugitives. So they don't really have a choice but to let it happen, for now. We'll see what developments happen with that in the next episode, though.
