Everything he's doing is him trying to see if he'll feel something. He's literally doing all of these things since day 1 of first year to evoke emotions out of himself. Everything he did from first ep to now, is him testing himself in different scenarios to see if he will feel something. He doesn't necessarily want to change and in fact if he wanted to, he could've just been invisible from the start. It's all him putting himself into a trial and error process of this "normal high school life" to see if he's capable of feeling emotions. Kinda cold and sad but you'll soon learn why from his past.

2024-01-30 08:38:09 +0000 UTCIt is more obvious in the light novels, but Ayanakoji is a somewhat unreliable narrator. As in, he isn't always truthful about his true intentions behind his plans with the audience especially with Kei.
