2023-06-21 00:25:56 +0000 UTCSo with the whole Inui tagging the guy out thing: if a catcher drops the third strike of an AB while there is no runner on base, the batter must be tagged out or thrown out at first. Inui dropped Mei’s breaking ball when he got hit by that guys backswing, but instead of being in pain, his instinct was to tag the batter to get the out over worrying about an injury.
