In my opinion, Zono is a better captain. He has the voice and frankness required of a captain, unfortunately his ability is not enough.

Yesss Sawamura’s growth is what makes this show so top tier for me. That scene with Furuya always gives me chills. And I totally agree that I love how you can tell that Sawamura has matured but he still has that playful side to him that makes him him.

Ochiai is a damn jinx as far as I'm concerned lol. He talks about how they can't have more injuries or "let's hope for no more injuries" and injuries pop up. He needs to stop talking 🤣 Not sure if you caught it but that visualization exercise that Shirasu was doing was an exercise that Tetsu used to do too lol. Visualizing the ball coming and reacting on a dimes notice. I absolutely LOVE seeing the underclassman look up to Sawamura. It's so rewarding since he used to be made fun of for working this hard. I've long said that I really want the first year's, or at least Koushuu and Asada, to know that he used to have the yips. I can't imagine how much MORE appreciation they'd have for him knowing that he got over something that is so career ending. And for Koushuu to find out that the game that inspired him to go to Seidou, was one where Sawamura was pitching with the yips. I think this is where Miyukis weaknesses as a captain are really highlighted. He's an incredible player and he leads by example the way Tetsu did but he is not a communicator. He's not really someone who feels comfortable sitting down and talking feelings out and I think this episode is him realizing that. He assumed a lot about Furuyas headspace without actually talking to him and now he feels like he's not done his job correctly.
