Yes! It reminds me of Eijun at the beginning of the story. Ive always thought their progression was flipped. Furuya started off good and went backwards while Eijun started off bad and went forwards. Furuya is starting to learn the things Eijun had to learn in season 1. It's often how things happen for ppl that are naturally talented. I like how the two are juxtaposed to each other

"Best pitcher in Japan" but refuses to figure out what he needs to do to get there. He hasn't once talked about what he really needs to work on and what his step by step plan is to improve. He just hopes it'll happen.
