They figured out that that room was the Saferoom because the Tagger was on an entirely different floor from where one dude was near the door. He fired from a distance at him specifically because he had found where the Saferoom was, but for everyone else the tagger waited until they got directly up to them. As for why other dude didn't help Arisu out, whenever he peeked into the room earlier shots were being fired wildly. If he tried to step into the room at any point he would've been killed. 'Ol girl was okay because she came in from the window, but anyone else sliding in is dead especially since Arisu didn't have a lock on the tagger's firing arm.
