Forgot how good this match was. I liked how all 4 would be fighting eachother all the time rather than 2 off selling while 2 were doing spots. The 4 pillars was a bid to put 4 young talents in the limelight. Up until this point they were all quite popular with the fans and had a good work rate. They were considered pillars along with MJF although MJF was the main one out of all of them. So they went with a story to give all of them a chance in a high profile match and they all delivered, although nobody really thought Max was losing. Jack Perry continued with his tag team stories with Luchasaurus and story with Christian Cage. Sammy was kind of stuck in a repeating Jericho story where whenever you thought he was done with it he went right back into it. He also had some backstage issues with some other talent as well. He's been trying to make good and he means well I think he's just been a bit young and dumb. Now he's got married to Tay Melo and they both have had their kid he's grown up alot. The AEW roster kind of moved on without him and got better and over the last year or so he's been in ROH just doing what he can. I hope one day he can move up and become more regular on AEW TV again because he's got a very good moveset for exciting matches. After this Max continued to be champ all the way to the end of the year. (This was in may)

2025-07-15 16:33:08 +0000 UTCThis was all the way back in November so I wouldn't be suprised if you don't remember it but y'all watched MJF vs Darby Allin from Full Gear 2021. The reason why I bring this up is because in that match, part of the story and the ending to the match was MJF beating Darby with a headlock takeover. Just a nice little callback from that particular match
