It was a feel-good moment for a long underrated guy, but everyone knew he was only finally getting the nod because Edge had to retire. Alberto was a legit talent, rare main event push in that era, but torched it all with his own backstage behavior. Then he gave fans every reason to rewrite history and pretend he was never good. No sympathy there lol. Still wildly over in Mexico though, similar blind spot treatment US legends like Steve Austin or ric Flair get.
