What Nobody Noticed About The Rock vs John Cena

Although I get the point of the video and agree with some of it, it's extremely biased. Notice he never showed ONE snippet of The Rock doing anything- every clip was of Cena. Nevertheless, I love them both.

I love The Rock. He's one of my top 5 greatest of all time, but no-one ever said he was a good human being. You can always tell how much a wrestler loves the business once they go Hollywood because you can just see how often they come back. Rock made like 25-30 total appearances from 2005-2025 while John Cena in this year alone is making 36 appearances.

i am a fan of both cena and rock still to this day despite how people feel about the cena heel turn or the recent negative opinion many have of the rock. i find this guys channel to be really interesting because at times, it seems as though he is pretty biased toward one side, but then makes just a compelling of a case for the other side as well.

Apparently I’ve watched this video but I do not remotely remember it lol.

Hi Ian

In defense of the Rock, which isn’t to say that I disagree with this video, because actually my defense will just be siding historical fact and not any sort of refutation of what was presented here, because quite frankly, I think it is just plainly evident that he is on a massive ego trip as of late, but in his defense, this is the great irony, back in the day when he was in the WWE for his first run, believe it or not, he was thought to be too selfless. The Rock would frequently lose to people when he was the top guy in the company, to the point where people thought that he did it too much. I’m not sure what happened after he left for Hollywood, but clearly he believes his own hype at this point, and I didn’t even really start seeing it until last year, because even when he came back the previous times, it didn’t feel like this. I don’t share the same outrage about his Hollywood stuff that other people do, because truthfully a lot of new movies don’t interest me, but for a guy who was thought to sell too much in his wrestling career, he sure seems to have forgotten that selling in the end makes you look better when you overcome a greater obstacle, at least he seems to have forgotten that in his movie career, and it seems now that it is bleeding over into wrestling as well. Ric Flair was another one of those guys who was thought of as being far too selfless with lesser talent, and in both of their cases, it was often remarked that, what made them truly great was that they could continuously lose and somehow not be hurt by it, same goes for Brian Danielson. Anyways, just thought I would give some further historical context, sorry for the length. Hi Josh since I know you’re awake right now.

And the sad thing is, that’s how we remember it. Cody is my favorite wrestler of all time, and it was in his hometown. I’m not going to sit here and say that it would have been absurd for the HIAC match to go on last, but I think part of the reason why Cody and Roman going last on that particular night is remembered so poorly is because of what happened after the match, the two biggest stars of this era were made to look like after thoughts, at least that’s the way it is now, because at the time, we thought, wow, this is going to lead to something else great, and now that we know it’s for nothing, he didn’t elevate anyone, he stole the spotlight from the two men who made WWE hotter than it has been, quite frankly since his era ended.

nice to see a patrick cc reaction. I watch him a lot and he does these style videos on a bunch of different thing. He has a few more wrestling ones too, a big one being the rise and fall of Vince McMahon from when he took over wwe from his father in the early 80s to now

I think people really started realizing how big Dwayne’s ego was at Bad Blood. He forced the match of the year, that ended the feud of the year (in WWE) to open the show so that his 5 second appearance that lead to literally nothing could close the show. And then not showing up at Wrestlemania 41 to continue the story that he started I think really pushed a lot of people to just not liking him anymore.
