My understanding is tht new Japan allowed shibata to have an exhibition with Kenta and new Japan set rules because they were worried about shibata Well during tht exhibition shibata decided to disregard those rules and wrestle. After tht the company did not trust him anymore and were on bad terms which made his return to this yrs wrestlekindom special

The “King of Strong Style” nickname for Nakamura has an interesting backstory to it. Strong Style was term created by Inoki to describe his vision for wrestling. The idea was to show that Pro-Wrestling was the strongest form of martial-arts, moves such as strikes and submissions were commonly used to create an atmosphere to realism. Inoki would also have his trainees learn actual catch wrestling techniques so they could actually “fight”. The creation and rise of MMA can be directly traced back to Inoki as it was former New Japan trainees who were the ones to create shoot style wrestling promotions and eventually the first full-fledged MMA promotions. The rise of MMA would lead to Inoki combining it and pro-wrestling together, having MMA fighters wrestle and wrestling fight in MMA in the mid-2000s. Nakamura, who had debuted in 2002, was one of the few wrestlers who found success in MMA, and because of that he was pushed really hard, becoming the youngest IWGP champion ever at just 23 years old. When Inoki left the company in 2006, Tanahashi became the top star of New Japan, and was the antithesis of Strong Style in many ways. The company had went away from Strong Style from that point onward, with even today being much more similar to old All Japan than New Japan in terms of in-ring work. In 2009, Nakamura turned heel, creating the stable Chaos. Its goal originally was to bring Strong Style back to New Japan, Nakamura had been a beneficiary of it after all. Nakamura would begin to use the “King of Strong Style” nickname around 2011-2012 when he began to adopt his more flamboyant mannerisms (before that he was a straight-laced wrestler in terms of personality). I had actually thought about submitting a Nakamura match for my first submission, but other matches have gone up my list in terms what I’ve wanted to submit. After bringing it up that match may have moved up now.
