You guys should watch the docu about "Ruthless Agression" next. Highlighted the 2000s WWE after the monday night war in a good way.

The Invasion should have been the biggest angle of all time, but Vince treated it as a victory lap instead.

Since you asked at the end, Vice (who produced dark side or the ring) does in fact have a 4 part series called "who killed wcw". And you can tell that they did it with more honesty and focus on the business end of things.

The merger did not lead to an upswing or plateau in business as Vince asks wrestlers to frame it. Very few WCW fans migrated over, and WWE lost a large part of their audience due to a big angle at WM 17. This allowed TNA to grow as the spiritual successor to WCW, despite extremely limited funds. One could easily argue WWE wasn't even the most popular wrestling company in the world during the mid 2000s, given the business NOAH did in Japan. The actual Ruthless Aggression era content is quite good though for the most part, and in many ways even more wacky than attitude era (for good and for bad).
