Don't forget the celebrity episode "The War Goes Mainstream" where they revealed that Vince Russo booked actor David Arquette to win the world title. That was during the final year of WCW when they gave Vince Russo full control of the booking decisions.

It's mainly about the final calendar year of WCW and Russo's terrible booking decisions that led to their demise and the final episode is the aftermath of WCW from 2001-2002 rather than anything that happened during the Monday Night War.

2025-03-20 23:26:17 +0000 UTCHogan and Flair had houseshow matches and apparently they didn't draw to well, That's the big reason the wrestlemania match was canned.

2025-03-18 21:28:01 +0000 UTCThe next episode is centered around Vince Russo mostly so there's even less repetition since his career on the wwe creative team didn't start until 1996. Kinda funny how Russo went from being a part of WWE's rise and WCW's fall.

2025-03-18 04:30:24 +0000 UTCThe only times a heel won the Wrestlemania main events was Wrestlemania 16 with Triple H defeating The Rock, Wrestlemania 17 with Austin defeating The Rock, The Miz defeating Cena at Wrestlemania 27, Seth Rollins heist of the century at Wrestlemania 31, Lesnar beating Roman at Wrestlemania 34, and then Roman winning at Wrestlemania 37, 38, and 39.

2025-03-17 17:13:38 +0000 UTCI actually don’t think Hogan was lying about not knowing why they didn’t run Hogan vs Flair at Wrestlemania 8 for a few reasons: -That was literally the first thing they did when Hogan signed with WCW. In fact, they couldn’t stop themselves from running Hogan vs Flair. -Flair wouldn’t have had a problem putting Hogan over, he did so a bunch of times in WCW and he lost to Randy Savage at Mania 8. -I doubt the idea of Flair going over Hogan at Mania 8 was ever even considered because Wrestlemania 16 was the first time a heel won the main event and it didn’t become common until Roman Reigns turned heel.

2025-03-17 16:50:10 +0000 UTCI don't blame him as much for WCW because he basically got too over his head with too much success too soon. Turner should have replaced him faster or given him help. However, I do blame him for ruining TNA's golden age.

2025-03-17 16:48:33 +0000 UTCIn early monday night war, WCW had more stars and better wrestling. It can't be understated how much better the WCW in-ring product was overall. But as Arn said, people will eventually lose interest if your matchups are no longer fresh, because you don't do enough storylines to maximize the value and life-span of each matchup. WCW basically signed all the free agents they could get their hands on and drained them of all their good matchups, instead of slowly building the best ones up as future stars. They still did do storylines, just not as many. And it's difficult to write storylines when you have given your top wrestlers creative freedom to prioritize what they want, rather than what the company needs. Russo, for all his faults, made sure even the least important wrestlers in WWE had some kind of thing going on with them. WCW would often just throw out two good wrestlers or two stars and have them wrestle.

2025-03-17 16:36:16 +0000 UTCYou know, I really can’t bring myself to hate Bischoff. Yeah, he’s made some mistakes in terms of booking and such, but as a whole, I appreciate some of the self awareness, and I’d be lying if I didn’t find that grin and his antics entertaining. He’s a wrestling personality that isn’t load and abrasive, which helps.
