2025-02-05 13:50:39 +0000 UTCFor some added context: the reason why NJPW decided to end the show with the belts being destroyed is b/c Power Struggle is the last PPV before WrestleKingdom, and since NJPW doesn’t have a weekly show, they had no choice but to end the show with the heel on top to set up the match for WrestleKingdom (they obviously still have house shows in between, but destroying a major belt on a house show is prolly not a smart move for the angle)

2025-02-05 04:37:51 +0000 UTCI didn’t say Ospreay went into business for himself. It’s just typical that his matches are so long and have so many high spots, no sells and kick outs. And for reference, I don’t like when anyone does this, not just Ospreay. He just does it a lot.

2025-02-05 02:37:15 +0000 UTCOne thing I can agree on is that NJPW needs to tweak the main-event style Okada introduced to better fit the current younger wrestlers. That said, NJPW is extremely deliberate about when they let matches go this long. So the idea that Ospreay went into business for himself is ridiculous. Umino was, and likely still is, set to be the next top guy. So it’s like if Trick Williams or Oba Femi went 40 minutes and had a great showing against Roman, Punk or Cody. Surprising (which is the important part) and legitimizing moment to the crowd.

2025-02-04 23:48:17 +0000 UTCLate-stage NJPW Ospreay was a meanace. It's a shame half of it happened during covid. Finlay is likely headed to WWE (NXT) soon, after being great in 2024. Hopefully more of his faction joins him once they see he's being used well. I was pretty mad at him for breaking the belt 😂. Ospreay vs Moxley vs Finlay was at Wrestle Kingdom for the new IWGP Global title. Great match, so I won't spoil who won.

Not only do I love the design and the matches that have happened for the belt, but some of my favourite Wrestlers are synonymous with it like Moxley and Will, so if I could magically get one or ever be able to sell my Kidney for the funds, That’s probably my dream.
